Liz Stannard
Elizabeth (Liz) Stannard received her degree in art at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado in the late 80’s. She was living in Farmington, New Mexico which was a short drive from Durango. Initially, her focus was the dead Juniper trees on a mesa in Farmington and her preferred medium was pastel. Eventually, her subject matter evolved to people, which she used oil paint to create.
When her husband died in 2007, she dove into her art…painting and mixed media. She learned, through the process, that art on the spiritual level, has the ability to pull each of us forward. Elizabeth moved to Omaha, NE in late 2020 and currently strives to live in the moment while working with mixed media.

I grew up in Kearney, NE and started writing songs when I was twelve. I was in choir and sang throughout my childhood, but I never had the confidence to sing alone. I moved to Lincoln for school and didn’t think much about performing, but I kept writing lyrics. My senior year was hard for me, and writing and singing was the only healthy coping mechanism I developed. So, I moved to Omaha and started performing at open mics. I eventually started singing in front of people and formed a band. Our band members are Lillian Kraft on Keys, Luke Wagner on Drums, Henry Tomsu on Bass, and Zach Klimowicz on Guitar. We’ve had the opportunity to play around town, record some songs, and grow as musicians. We’ve been nominated for Best Album, Best New Artist, and Best Pop here in Omaha.
