The Church / Art House is a tax-exempt, not for profit organization with a mission to inspire creativity and connection. We are located in a decommissioned church, south of downtown Omaha.

The architecture provides a unique space, attracting a wide variety of activities, including music and theater performances, art workshops, meditation events, gardening workshops and community meetings.

As an organization, we’re interested in cultivating a diverse community of migratory creative arts practitioners who express themselves through sound, dance, healing arts, performance, poetry, visual art, gardening and food processing.

The Space

The Church / Art House supports this community by offering low-cost studio and performance space along with community programming in partnership with Friday 2 Art Walk on Vinton.

Resources include four basement artist studios that open to a communal kitchen and shared bathroom. An electric kiln is housed in the boiler room and a kick wheel is accessible in the communal area. The Church also provides a communal balcony and outdoor patio space.

The upstairs assembly hall has two additional private rooms where music lessons and administrative office space is housed. The upstairs assembly hall is equipped with a piano and pipe organ and is utilized for rehearsals, performances, art workshops and other forms of public assembly.

The Studios

& communal space

The basement is comprised of six private studios along with a shared communal lounge, work space, kitchen and bathroom.

Open Studios are hosted every second Friday of the month as part of Friday 2 on Vinton.

We are located in South Omaha at 3101 S. 20th St. Omaha, NE 68108
